Ms. Mielke is from the stinky ol' Cheese State, Wisconsin. She went to Somerset High School before heading to St. Cloud State University. Ms. Mielke graduated college in 2013 with a BFA in Painting & Art Education.
Over the years, Ms. Mielke has traveled around the world to see artwork. Amsterdam, Paris, London, Germany, and Colombia are (in no specific order) her favorite places to visit. Now Ms. Mielke resides in the beautiful city of Minneapolis in the Kenwood neighborhood and goes to art museums and galleries often.
Outside of school, Ms. Mielke loves to hang out with friends, family, and her kitties Nova and Vinnie. She loves to do many outdoor activities as well as spending her spare time making art and going dancing. She lives very close to the Walker Art Center, MPLS Sculpture garden, Lake of the Isles, Sebastian Joes Ice Cream Shop and Rudolph's BBQ. Getting out and about in the neighborhood is a daily activity.
Working in the Robbinsdale district since student teaching in 2012, this upcoming year will be her 5th year teaching art. Ms. Mielke will be joining the Cooper team for her 2nd year in a row. Teaching high school has been the most challenging and the most fun setting yet!
